About her
This is the difficult bit. How to give a true reflection of me, to people I don’t know. Words flow much more easily if you know who you are talking to. However, in summary, and from the feedback I get from the world in general, I’m pretty OK. Tall, but pretty OK.
At my best, I am a great friend, funny, loyal, conscientious, fairly capable and a jack of all trades. However, if someone is tailgating me or driving with their mirrors pointing at their face and not the road, I can be quite crotchety. I can also be very nice – which leads me to end up volunteering for all sorts of things. Some of it is actually fun, such as conservation work for the wildlife trust. Litter picking is a mixed bag – very satisfying clearing it up – very annoying that it needs doing to start with.
Being outdoors, walking, or visiting places of interest, are my go-to pleasures. Terrified of heights, so gave paragliding a go and abseiled off the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London. Won’t be doing the abseiling again. I dabble in arts and crafts, enjoy good films, live music, theatre and comedy nights. And always up for new experiences.

Looking for someone who can bring new experiences, ideas and insights to my space in this world – and who equally is open to the same in return. Intelligence, humour and an interest in people and the world around us, would prick up my ears. Life – and we’ve all had some of that - has taught me that two-way respect, emotional intelligence, openness and an ability to laugh at yourself are important to the sort of relationship I want.
I am used to being pretty self-sufficient and independent, so wouldn’t want anyone taking over my life or being needy. But “man” is not an island, so someone who wants to be on my team would be welcomed with open arms.
Being the current owner of a pair of, at least slightly, muddy walking boots is a basic requirement (spotless, white trainers unnerve me). I like and need to be physically active, but if you are super-fit and bristling in stamina, I may be lagging behind a little. Life is ever more about things being in balance.
Being too prescriptive feels wrong. The bottom line would be for us to have similar values, to enjoy some healthy banter but to also learn from each other, to make each other laugh and smile, and - most importantly - have the chemistry that brings that much sought after “va va voom”.
