I'm a well travelled guy of average intelligence, who lives just west of London — and own a property in Scotland.
I spent my early years in Singapore during the 1960s, and later in life my work frequently took me abroad. During the 90s, when responsible for money laundering investigations in the Caribbean region, I lived in Jamaica. I fell in love with the country, the people and the food. As for Blue Mountain coffee — well, Ian Fleming was correct.
I'm a sun, beach, warm sea type of person, rather than snow, ski, etc.
A few other likes: Wimbledon fortnight, Corsica, a hot, sticky English summer, history, dark chocolate, the Sussex coast.
Some say I have a posh [sic] English accent — but actually, I'm 100% Celt.
I know it's a cliché, however, in my head I'm still 25 or so. I said, in my head.
I'm a current affairs/political junky.
I have a VERY dry sense of humour — and a rebelious nature. Irreverent, maybe.
I'm not politically correct and despair for the UK. I suspect that information will put off many of you. Sorry — but I'd be dishonest if I said otherwise.
I'm published — non fiction. Now attempting screenwriting. One script has been turned into a novel by a Fleet Street journalist. Others are begging for the same treatment. Care to have a go?
Best concerts I've been to: Supertramp/David Bowie — both in 1983.
Favourite film — Local Hero, though the final scene in The Long Good Friday takes some beating.
I was stumped for a username. My aerial smuggling days are way behind me — and such ventures were 'controlled', that is, legal.
The swimming pool photos were taken today, 6th May, 2024. I will reply to messages when home from a short break.
